Friends of Lake Jackson Annual Meeting & Mixer

  • April 09, 2017
  • 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Shuckers Half-Shell Oyster Bar at Sunset Landing, 4806 Jackson Cove Rd, Tallahassee

Friends of Lake Jackson Annual Meeting & Mixer brings together members of FoLJ and the public to get to know each other and learn more about Lake Jackson and Lake Jackson Watershed Basin.

Friends of Lake Jackson, Inc. was formed in 1998 to organize the efforts of informed and concerned citizens who share a desire to protect Lake Jackson from further adverse effects. This group works with local, state and federal governmental officials to arrest the further decline of this key piece of our natural heritage.

Local organizations, businesses and government agencies will be on site to provide updates, share information, and speak about their connection to Lake Jackson as “The Jewel of Leon County.”

Learn more about…

  • Recreation & Sporting: boating, bass fishing, birding and more.
  • Flora & Fauna: ecological diversity as a key component to lake health and its challenge.
  • Hydrology & Water Quality: clean water for everyone!
  • LAKEWATCH program: citizen scientist volunteers in action.
  • Leon County Parks & Recreation Director, Leigh Davis shares her vision.
  • Tally Yakkers Outfitters: Tallahassee’s only independently owned kayak specialty shop will provide FREE kayak demos!
