Lake Henrietta Clean-Up, april 8, 2017
A dedicated team organized by Sustainable Tallahassee’s Water Resources Committee spent a hot morning in a clean-up of Lake Henrietta, collecting over TEN large bags of litter, some recyclables, and other large items from the lake and shoreline grasses.
Special thanks to ST board and committee leaders Charley Schwartz, Ed Bettinger, Tom Taylor, and several volunteers who participated. You made this a beautiful place again!
Lake Henrietta is in a county park between Springhill Road and Capital Circle S.W. and is part of the Lake Munson Restoration Project. It was expanded to 25 acres by the County to reduce the erosion of the streambanks and decrease sediment reaching Lake Munson. Lake Henrietta has walking trails and is an example of how Leon County has made beautiful areas that treat stormwater.
