Understanding Our Local Energy World

  • April 23, 2013
  • 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Main Tallahassee Public Library meeting room, Park Avenue

Would you like to look into our community's energy future?

Join a panel of local energy experts for an evening of short presentation about where our electric energy comes from, its vulnerability to being outstripped by growth in customer demand or future climate trends, and the status of local and state efforts to maintain "energy sovereignty" - sustainable energy generation, distribution and consumption. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.

Speakers include:

Michael Ohlsen, CEM, City of Tallahassee Utilities

Barry Moline, Executive Director, Florida Municipal Electric Association

This free event is open to the public and is one of four special programs hosted in conjunction with the ongoing “EcoTeams” project sponsored by Sustainable Tallahassee and co-funded by Leon County and the City of Tallahassee.

The four programs in this series are open to the public and will focus on Water, Waste, Energy, and Transportation:

Tuesday, March 26 – Local Water – Leon County Main Library Downtown

Tuesday April 9 - Local Waste - Myers Park Community Center

Tuesday April 23 - Local Energy - Leon Co Main Library Downtown
