sustainable Transportation Committee

To grow Tallahassee's use of alternative modes of transportation in ways that are energy efficient and sustain health, community, mobility and participation.

Meetings are generally on the second Thursday of each month, but that is subject to change.  Contact the Chair, or check our Sustainable Tallahassee calendar, to find out details regarding upcoming committee meetings.

How do we move from single-driver fossil fueled cars?  How do we make Tallahassee/Leon County safer for pedestrians and cyclists?  How do we remain mobile while significantly reducing our carbon footprint?

Be part of this conversation and add your idea and concerns.

The Sustainable Transportation Committee brings together individuals and groups to support ways to to get people out of their one-person, one-car modes, and onto buses, into carpools, on bikes and even on their feet.  We are working to facilitate more public awareness, public utilization, and infrastructure improvements.

This committee collaborates with representatives from StarMetro, Commuter Services of North Florida, the Capital City Cyclists, and other interested parties to go forward with these initiatives.

Previous Activities

The "Downtown Fun Ride" in October, 2014, and "Fun Ride to the Arts" in April, 2015, are examples of events this committee has hosted to give our citizens the opportunity to experience the advantages of bus riding.
