We support a multimodal transportation system that includes public
transit, walking, bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, e-scooters, and additional
assistive devices as modes of transportation.
Sustainable Tallahassee works to promote the expansion of a multimodal transportation system in Tallahassee. We believe that this will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions while promoting healthier & safer transportation options.
Reimagining Our Community
Our Sustainable Transportation Committee works to help the community get out of the single-occupancy vehicle mindset through education and collaboration.
The Committee supports ways to encourage people to use alternative forms of transportation like buses, biking, e-scooters, or walking. To achieve this, we are working to facilitate public awareness, public utilization, and infrastructure improvements.
Sustainable Tallahassee collaborates with representatives from StarMetro, Commuter Services of North Florida, the Capital City Cyclists, and other interested parties to go forward with these initiatives.
If switching to public transportation or a bicycle does not fit into your lifestyle, try switching to electronic modes of transportation. Electronic vehicles, E-Bikes, and E-Scooters are all forms of transportation that can help reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
Sustainable Tallahassee’s Electric Vehicle Club serves as the community’s educational resource on EV ownership. Meet the EV Club members at their monthly social or special events to learn everything you need to know to become a confident new EV owner.
Follow us on Facebook to find out where the EVs will be next and to chat with EV owners about any questions you might have!
Join the Sustainable Transportation Committee
We meet virtually on the second Thursday of every month at 4:00 p.m. Email our chair at Leighanne.Boone@gmail.com for more information or to get the link to our meetings.
